Greater Manchester Lieutenancy

The Lieutenacy Clerk, The Office Adminstrator and their daughter walked and ran 13.5 miles (a half marathon) to raise funds for Francis Lodge the new centre opposite Francis House that will help to make comfortable the lives of young teenagers suffering from cancer.

The day was beautiful though, as you might expect on the coast, rather windy.  We began as planned mid morning (Rebekah was our pace maker and measured the distance) from Red Bank Road, Bispham and met a number of people along the way who kindly threw money into the bucket.  A particular delight was meeting the Chaplain of Blackpool Victoria Hospital who was in training for his own sponsored event.  The first half was completed in Fleetwood where  we had lunch before beginning the return in a head wind.  All in all a very successful day.

The final figure raised for this cause was £7907.80.
