Mrs Christine Lee-Jones DL MA MIMgt. FRSA

Christine Lee-Jones

Christine has seventeen years experience of voluntary public service to higher education having served on the Council and Court of the University of Salford and the Court and General Assembly of the University of Manchester.  She is a member of the council of the Girls' Schools Association, its governing body and chairperson of the joint GSA/HMC Professional Development Committee.

Christine was a member of the University of Salford Court and a Member of the University of Salford Council and served on the Audit Committee and the Strategic Policy and Resources Committee from 1992 until 1998. She has been a Member of the Governing Body of Altrincham Girls' Grammar School; a Member of the Further Education Funding Council Quality Assessment Committee; Vice Chairman of the Girls' Schools Association (GSA) Professional Development Committee; a Member of the University of Manchester Court and formerly Head Mistress of Manchester High School for Girls.

Currently, Christine continues her voluntary service as an Independent Schools Inspectorate Registered Inspector; a Member of the University of Manchester General Assembly; the Joint Chairman of the HMC/GSA Professional Development Committee; a Member of the Girls' School Association Council with responsibility for the training of new head mistresses; the Girls' School Association representative on the Independent Schools Council Teacher Induction Panel; is a Member of Network (A national organisation of successful business women), University Women's Club, a Friend of the Royal Academy of Arts, an Associate Member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and has recently been appointed as a Justice of the Peace.

She was made a Deputy Lieutenant in 2007 and HIgh Sheriff of Greater Manchester 2011.

Christine lists amongst her interests Tennis, Literature and the theatre, Travel, Membership of the Wine Society and she is a supporter of the Army Benevolent Fund.
