Jack Golberg DL Hon D.Litt (Salford) MA BCL(Oxon)
Jack was born in Salford and was educated at Mancehste Grammar School and Magdalen College, Oxford. During the Second World War he served in the Hon Artillery Co from 1943-46 and the Army Education Corps from 1946-47.
In his business life Jack was formerly the Senior Partner of Goldberg Blackburn & Howards (now Pannone & Partners); a member of the Salford City Labour Party, NW Regional Labour Party Executive, Council of European Municipalities, Labour Committee for Europe, NW Regional Economic Council, North West Arts Association, Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre, EAO Ltd (Partnership) Goldberg Ensemble Ltd, Manchester & Salford CSS, Greater Manchester CVS, Salford CVS, Salford FMSA, GM Community Trust, Action for Victims of Medical Accidents ad Salford College of Technology. He has published, with P. Booth, 'The Role of National and Regional Bodies in Overseeing and Co-ordinating Cultural Decentralisation Policies' (1976).
Jack remains a member of the Fabien Society and the Manchester Literary & Philosophical Society. He has been married to Maria Luise Wolff since 1952 and they have three daughters. Jack enjoys Walking, stamp collecting and music.
