Norman K Stoller Esq CBE CStJ DL

Norman StollerNorman was born in 1934 and was educated at Eccles High School. He served in the Royal Air Force in 1952-55 and then joined his father at Seton Products Ltd. He became Managing Director in 1962 and chairman of the Seton Healthcare Group in 1984. He served as non-executive Chairman from 1995 until 1998, President of Seton Scholl Healthcare plc (now SSL International plc.) in 1998 and left the Board in 1999 when he became High Sheriff of Greater Manchester 1999-2000.

Norman became North West Businessman of the Year (CBI/Daily Telegraph) 1991 and was awarded the degree of Master of Science, honoris causa, by the University of Salford in 1993.  Other local honours include Honorary Life President of Oldham Chamber, Member of the Royal Northern College of Music, honoris Causa 1999, and Honorary Memebership of Bolton Institute of Higher Education 2002. His National Honours include MBE, 1976 (serves to Health Care Exports); OStJ, 1987 and CSt 1995 (services to St John Ambulance).  He was made Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester in1995 and became an OBE (services to business in Greater Manchester) 1999.  In 2010 Norman was once more honoured when he was awarded a CBE for service to the community and especially in Oldham.

Helping others has always featured strongly in Norman's life and his charitable work through the Stoller Charitable Trust which he founded in the mid 1980s is well known.  He founded the Oldham Training and Enterprise Council, one fo the first to become established, in 1991.  This and several other initiatives in Oldham led to him recieving a Life Time Achievement Award by the Oldham Chronical in 2004 and Freedom of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham in 2008.

Norman lists his lieusure interests as Golf, reading, the wines of Bordeaux, the champagnes of France and malt whiskey's of Scotland all of which he shares with his wife, Sheila.
